If you have ever had a challenge with having an oily scalp, curls not holding, frizz, or limp hair you understand the struggles that so many women deal with every day. The issue starts in the shower! We totally understand the allure of purchasing a shampoo and conditioner based on the scent or a cheap price point. But when you get down to the facts, the ingredients are the most important factor to take into account when deciding which products to buy.

3 Ingredients We Avoid in Our Hair Care Line

Sulfates
The reason a lot of brands add sulfates is to create a lathering effect in the shower and to remove all the oil from your hair and scalp. The issue with this is it completely strips your hair of its natural oils. In essence, dehydrating your scalp which causes your scalp to overproduce oils. When your scalps oil production goes into overdrive your need to wash every day which causes your routine to go into overdrive! Sulfates can also dry or damage your hair over time, and may even contain carcinogens.

Parabens
A paraben is a preservative that is used to prevent the growth of fungi, bacteria, and mold in shampoos. The issue with parabens is they can cause irritation of the scalp, skin conditions, and allergic reactions. Are fungi and bacteria gross? Sure, and we don’t want the bad kinds on your scalp, but research shows that there are healthy skin bacteria which actually help improve your skin’s health. By eliminating Parabens and introducing a healthy haircare system that promotes your body’s natural oils these good bacteria are able to thrive and autoimmune diseases like eczema may be avoided. Gluten
Using gluten-free products may help keep your skin clear if you have eczema or a gluten allergy/sensitivity. Some researchers are looking into what the actual culprit of gluten sensitivity is. Is it the gluten protein itself, or pesticides which oversaturate GMO wheat products and can never be removed? Whatever the answer is, you will not have to deal with possible negative side effects of gluten in TYME’s product line.

The Power Couple

When Jacynda Smith (TYME CEO) was asked why she wanted to create a product line, she said that she was tired of using hair products that work against you by weighing your hair down, making your hair feel oily, and not holding a style. She set out to make a product line that worked for you and actually allowed you to use it less often than other brands.
