FAQ

How do I request a return or warranty claim?

RETURNS
Our products can be returned within 30 days of the original delivery date of the product (some restrictions apply). Once your request to return the product is received, we will email you a prepaid return label to return the product within 1-2 business days.

To be eligible for a return, please make sure that:

  • The product was delivered within the last 30 days (excludes TYME Holiday Return Policy)
  • The product is in its original packaging
  • The product is not damaged
  • The product, excluding heat tools, is unused and in its original factory-sealed packaging
  • The product is not a promotional item, including demonstration products. Promotional and demonstration items are non-refundable. Original TYME Irons are also non-refundable, as stated on the product page.
  • You obtained a Return Authorization number (RA) from us.
  • In regards to TYME kit purchases: Should all products of a kit not be included in a return, refunds will be processed only for the items returned, and at a percentage of the total kit price due to the initial discount received from purchasing items in the kit rather than items sold separately/individually.

Please note:

  • Any shipping or shipping insurance charges on the original order will not be refunded.
  • Upon receipt of returned goods, TYME reserves the right to deny refund if the merchandise does not meet return policy requirements.
  • We cannot process returns or warranties for purchases made from a 3rd party seller.
  • TYME Holiday Return Policy - Orders delivered between November 1 and December 14 can be returned through Jan 14th assuming they meet the above criteria.

TRY A STYLETYME
If you are considering returning the iron, please first consider a FREE StyleTYME session. If you decide to book a StyleTYME session, we can extend your return window for an additional 10 days after your StyleTYME Session is completed. The TYME Iron's technique is as unique as its design, that is why we would love the opportunity to teach you personally BEFORE you return it!

If you would like to continue with your return, please email us at hello@tymestyle.com with the following information:

  • Name
  • Email address used for the purchase
  • Order number

Orders past their 30-day window will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please allow 7-10 business days after the product is received at our warehouse to receive your refund confirmation. It is also beneficial for you to request a receipt from your local USPS when you return your package.

WARRANTY CLAIMS
We offer a 1-year warranty on our TYME Iron & BlowTYME. You can learn about how to file a warranty claim, and what your warranty covers, below.

All TYME products carry a one-year limited warranty against damage caused by faulty material and/or workmanship from the date of purchase, in which TYME, at our discretion, will either repair or replace your returned product.

This warranty does not cover damages resulting from accident, day-to-day wear and tear including product build-up, scratched or damaged plates, misuse, abuse, attempts at repair, abuse of the electrical cord, neglect in safety, using improper voltage, or the use of unauthorized attachments.

The one-year warranty is effective from the purchase date on the original receipt. Products purchased from tymestyle.com will carry an active registration from the date of delivery.

To file a warranty claim, please email us at hello@tymestyle.com and include the following information:

  • Name
  • Email address used for the purchase
  • Order number
  • Details of your claim

If any of the above information is missing or incomplete, it may delay the processing of your warranty claim.

How can I cancel or update my order?

CANCEL ORDER
To cancel your order, please email us at hello@tymestyle.com with the following information as soon as possible:

  • Name
  • Order number
  • Email address used to make the purchase

If your order has already been fulfilled, we may be unable to cancel your order. If we are unable to cancel your order, you can have the package "Returned to Sender." Once we receive the package back to our warehouse, we will process a return refund. Please note this may take 5-7 business days.

UPDATE ORDER
Once your order is placed, we may be able to change your shipping address. We try to ship orders out as quickly as possible and once your order has been fulfilled, we may be unable to update or change your shipping address. If you would like to request to update or change your shipping address, please email us at hello@tymestyle.com with the following information, as soon as possible:

  • Name
  • Order number
  • Complete shipping address to be updated

We will make every attempt to accommodate your request. If we are unable to update or change your shipping address by the time of fulfillment and shipping, you will need to send the order back to us before we will be able to ship your new order with the updated shipping information.

How long does shipping take?

SHIPPING OPTIONS
We use USPS and UPS to ship your packages from our warehouse in Bellevue, Iowa.

  • Standard Shipping: Packages are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and are generally delivered within 3-5 business days.
  • Expedited Shipping: Packages are shipped via USPS Express and usually arrive within 1-2 business days. Shipping charges vary based on the destination.

Note: Packages containing aerosol hairspray may take an additional 2-3 business days to arrive and cannot be shipped via expedited. Aerosols can only be shipped via standard ground.

FULFILLMENT TIMES
We fulfill and ship most, but not all, orders within 24 hours. Orders placed on weekends and holidays ship the next business day. Shipping times vary, especially around the holiday season.

WHERE DO WE SHIP?
We ship anywhere in the United States, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. We also ship to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses. All of our packages ship out of our warehouse in Bellevue, Iowa.

ORDER TRACKING
When your order leaves our warehouse, you will receive a shipping confirmation email that includes a tracking number with USPS. Click the tracking number for an update on our site or you can access the tracking page directly here.

Our system can be a bit delayed, so for more up-to-the-minute information, look up tracking information on the USPS site.

What makes the TYME Iron different?

WHAT MAKES THE TYME IRON DIFFERENT?
The TYME Iron was designed with YOU in mind! We put the twist in the tool instead of your wrist. You can curl or straighten your hair in less time and it requires less strain on your arms and wrists!

IS THE TYME IRON DUAL VOLTAGE?
Yes, the TYME Iron is dual voltage! Use a standard adapter (so that our square plug will fit into the round plug outlet overseas) and your TYME Iron will be good to go.

DOES THE TYME IRON HAVE AN AUTO SHUTOFF?
We DO include an automatic shut off on the TYME Iron Pro. After 30 minutes, your iron will automatically turn off!

WHAT ARE THE PLATES MADE OF AND WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT?
The TYME Iron has titanium plates! Titanium is a lightweight, low-density lustrous metal that offers high-temperature stability. Compared to ceramic, titanium can heat up much faster, within seconds, while distributing the heat evenly throughout the surface. It also has a higher ionic charge that makes hair smooth and sleek in lesser time!

HOW DO I CLEAN MY TYME IRON?
Be sure the iron is off and unplugged. You can then clean the iron with a warm damp cloth! If the damp cloth isn't doing the trick, you can substitute rubbing alcohol.

Does the TYME Iron work on my hair type?

The TYME Iron was created to work on ALL hair types! We recommend booking a free StyleTYME session upon receiving your iron. Our stylists will meet with you via Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts, or FaceTime. The sessions are 30 minutes long and are always free with your purchase.

FRIZZ
If you have a kink or crimped look at the top, make sure you are sectioning your hair forward. That will set all of your hair up to travel forward and smooth the section. Check out our Learning the Angles in the Mirror and Getting Rid of Frizz blog post for more information.

If it is little flyaway hairs, those happen because you are curling all of the hair away from your head. As a result, the shorter hairs pop out. This is easily solved by using a fine-tooth comb to smooth the top, or you can spray hairspray and use the side of the hairspray can to smooth the top!

CURLS DROPPING
In most cases, the person using the iron just needs to travel slower down the hair. Your hair should look like silk and the curl should form on its own. If that's happening and the curl is not holding, you may want to look at what products you use on your hair. If you use any oil-based products or leave-in conditioners, these tend to be very heavy and may prevent the curl from holding.

The TYME Iron definitely works on curly hair. You don't have to straighten first because the iron smooths as it curls. Learn more here:

Our stylists can teach you how to use your iron with your left hand or teach you how to use it with your right hand (even if you're a lefty!)

No, TYME gift cards are electronic and delivered via email to the recipient. You can print the gift card page if you so choose.
