There are only two places to buy a genuine TYME iron: tymestyle.com and our Amazon store. Anywhere else is a counterfeit, no matter how convincing the site looks or how many TYME photos and videos it uses.

Our fraud team finds between 30 and 40 counterfeit websites and marketplace listings in a typical week. Almost all of them are operated overseas, which means there is very little we can do legally to shut them down or to get your money back. What we can do is tell you exactly what to look for.

The fake names to watch for

Counterfeit sellers rarely use the word TYME on the product itself. They use our photos and our videos in the advertising, then ship something called one of these:

  • Mestar Iron Pro
  • 2 in 1 Mestar Iron Pro
  • Infinitwist 2 in 1 Pro
  • Simplee Straight and Curl 2 in 1
  • Master Iron Pro
  • Magic Hair Iron
  • Generic listings simply titled "2 in 1 Iron"

Mestar is the most prolific. If the checkout page or the product that arrives says Mestar, you have bought a counterfeit.

Check your own order in three minutes

  1. Look at who sent your order confirmation. Orders placed on tymestyle.com are confirmed from hello@tymestyle.com. Nothing else.
  2. Look at your card statement. A real order shows as SP * TYMESTYLE.COM. Paid with PayPal, it shows as TYME LLC. Anything else is not us.
  3. Look for the word Mestar anywhere in the listing, the confirmation or the packaging.

What people who bought fakes tell us

  • The product never arrived at all
  • Something different from the photos arrived
  • A visibly used product arrived
  • Shipping took months
  • Customer service was limited or non existent, and in many cases the fraudster lists our contact details so the complaints come to us

This is a safety issue, not just a money issue

A counterfeit iron is an unregulated heating element you plug into a wall and hold against your head. These products do not go through the safety testing ours do. The risk of a fault, a burn or a fire is real, and the people selling them are not reachable when something goes wrong.

TYME cannot support, repair or replace a counterfeit product, and we cannot honour a return on something we did not sell.

What to do if you already bought one

  1. Contact the seller first, using the details in your confirmation email. Occasionally this works.
  2. File a chargeback with your card provider or PayPal. Explain that the item was sold using another company's branding and photographs. This is the route that most often gets money back.
  3. Report the ad or listing. Search engines and social platforms all have a report function, and reports are genuinely what gets these sellers taken down.
  4. Stop using the iron if it has already arrived, for the safety reasons above.
