How long does it take to heat up?
The 1.25 inch and 2 inch curling irons are ready in about 30 seconds. The Iron Pro and the Iron Air take about 50 seconds. Give it the full heat up before the first pass: an iron that has not finished heating is the most common reason a curl drops within the hour.
What heat setting should I use?
Start on the lowest one, whatever your hair is like. Try a section. If the style holds, that is your setting. If it drops, turn it up one and stop as soon as it holds. Every texture and every density needs something different, which is exactly why there is a range rather than a single temperature. Before reaching for more heat, check the other three things: let the curl cool completely before you touch it, keep your products light, and take smaller sections.
Will this work on my hair type?
Every TYME iron works on every texture and every ethnicity of hair. The 1.25 inch and 2 inch curling irons suit any hair type and any length, so choose between them by the look you want: ringlets and beachy waves from the 1.25 inch, volume and movement from the 2 inch. The Iron Pro and the Iron Air are the two that straighten as well as curl, and both are at their best on medium to coarse hair up to bra strap length.
Length is the one thing that narrows the choice. If your hair is longer than bra strap, we recommend the 1.25 inch or the 2 inch, even if you want to straighten, because the Iron Pro and the Iron Air get harder to use the longer the hair is. The thirty second quiz will tell you which.
Can I use it abroad?
Yes. TYME irons are dual voltage, so they run on both 110 to 120v and 220 to 240v. You will need a plug adapter for the socket shape, not a voltage converter.
What if it is not right for me?
We accept returns and exchanges for 7 days. Contact us within 7 days of delivery and send the item back in the same condition it reached you, with everything in the original box. A flat $20 restocking fee applies to refunds and exchanges alike, and return shipping is paid by you.
How do I keep the plates in good condition?
Wipe the iron down with a damp microfibre cloth once it is completely cool. Never spray product directly onto the plates, and let heat protectant dry before you clamp.
