We are starting a series called “Inner Beauty” where we answer Life Challenge questions submitted from our Facebook Live viewers. This first one was submitted by a mom asking how to not take stress out on her kids, but this can be applied in other relationships as well! We’ve all probably had a day where we’ve had a boss or a teacher or somebody take something out on us and we can also probably remember how that made us feel. Now imagine if you are the one under stress.. Have your kids really done anything serious enough to warrant whatever it is that your stress is going to take out on them? So, what do you do? The best thing you can do is to take some time, even if you have to sit in your car for a few minutes and find a “theme song” for the moment, your “spirit animal” or a picture that represents who you are as a person and who you want to be as a mom. Make sure you get centered with yourself before you walk into a room with your kids and be responsible for the energy that you bring into that room. That is so important. Also understanding that you have very limited time of your kids’ lives with them, so spending that time in nurturing and developing them instead of taking your frustrations out on them is so key. Make sure you get centered with yourself and remember what kind of energy you want to bring to your kids before you go and take it out on them. For example, let’s say you are centered and you walk into a room and it’s a mess and you think “ugh that’s it, my kids are lazy, they’re not doing anything,” but little do you know, maybe your kids were in cleaning their rooms and they brought out toys to give away to kids.. It could be that different of a scenario, but the energy you bring into that room is what will guide how you react and how much you can help the kids. So take a minute to center yourself and make sure you can bring good energy to them! And remember, if it does happen that you take your stress out on them, regroup and move on! Don’t dwell on it because that’s not beneficial for anyone!! The key is to recenter, however that happens. Ask the kids for a take back. Say, “I’ve thought about what happened and I think I can do better so how about this…” and bring the new energy or new approach! Curling on Someone Else with the TYME Iron ProWouldn’t it be nice if you had ONE iron that could: • Give short hair volume and lift • Create beach waves • Create tight, curly curls • Smooth and straighten natural curl? Here are some helpful tips for curling on someone else using the TYME Iron: 
Step 1. Start with the proper grip on your iron. When you are curling someone else’s hair, you will want to place your pointer finger behind the power button. (You will want to keep your thumb under the “T” in TYME if using the original TYME Iron.) 
Step 2. Brush through their hair and divide it into two sections splitting the hair down the middle at the back of their head. 
Step 3. It helps to develop a pattern. For example, start in the back center and work your way forward. 
Step 4. Use vertical sections. You want the section of hair you are working with to run in the same direction as the plates of the iron. 
Step 5. Remember to keep the hair strand smooth and not twisted. If you keep the hair smooth, it will lay flat on the plates and make a smoother, evenly heated curl 
Step 6. Glide the iron toward you to get your curl. The more you rotate the iron, the tighter the curl; the less you rotate the iron, the softer the curl. 
Step 7. Curling Their Left Side To curl away from their face, come in from the top of the hair strand keeping the tip of the iron down and the cord up. To curl toward their face, come in from underneath the hair strand keeping the tip of the iron up and the cord down. 
Remember! Where hair cools is where it stays! This is your chance to twirl and set your curl into place if necessary. Always twirl the curl in the direction you curled it. Pro Tips: 
If ends get too curly or tight, switch to the flat iron side and straighten out a bit. 
To get curls at the top, go in with the iron as close to the top of the hair strand as possible and rotate right away. 
For face-framing pieces, it looks more natural to come in with the iron lower down on the hair section.

Have you ever spent a crazy amount of time blow drying your hair only to end up with a mess of frizz and static?Maintaining the moisture in your hair with the proper blow-drying technique is essential for keeping your hair healthy and will help you take care of these hair challenges once and for all! Moisture in your hair is essential like drinking water for your body. There are a few main points that can be huge game-changers when it comes to blow-drying and we will teach you how to prep your hair with the perfect everyday blowout or to use before you curl or straighten. We love to start with our Power Couple, Pregame Shampoo and Showoff Conditioner to create the perfect foundation. :) How To Do A Blowout In 7 Steps Step 1: Start by wrapping your hair in a towel for a few minutes, then squeeze and blot with the towel to absorb the water. The main goal when towel drying your hair is to not rough up the cuticle layers by shimmying the towel down the hair, instead focus on blotting to absorb the moisture into the towel! The cuticle layers are like the shingles on your roof. If you go around your roof scuffing the edges, you cause the shingles to lift. The goal in having smooth, healthy hair is to take proper care of your shingles/cuticle layers to make sure they are “nailed down” every step of the way so you don’t have to call in the repair guy (i.e. your stylist) all the tyme. ;) Step 2: After towel and air drying the hair for a bit, apply a thermal protectant. We like Upstaged Thermal Protectant because it covers all the bases for volume, hold, shine and heat protectant while still being smooth and touchable. Make sure your hair is not soaking wet when you apply the product. If your hair is saturated with water, it cannot accept product (think of a soaking wet paper towel trying to absorb a spill--you have to wring it out before it can absorb more! Step 3: Starting in the back of your head, use a paddle brush, (we love the TYME Paddle Brush), followed by BlowTYME Hair Dryer to break the hair’s natural fall tendency to dry it out of place. This will create more lift off the scalp. This is especially important on the crown of your head where the cowlicks most likely are. Blow drying away from the hair’s natural fall tendency will allow you to place the hair where you want it as opposed to where it wants to go on its own. Step 4: It’s BlowTYME, make sure you attach your concentrator! Using the concentrator is one of the most important parts of a smooth blowout. It allows you to target a particular area and really control the direction of the airflow so you’re more precise and work through an area faster. When learning to work with a concentrator, you may want to keep your dryer on a low or medium heat setting. When used properly, heat can be your strongest ally and help you achieve gorgeous hair. Laying down the cuticle helps lock in moisture, keeping hair shiny and smooth. Step 5: Work from the scalp to mid-shaft until hair is 70-80% dry and switch to a round brush. The ends naturally dry while moving the hair around when drying the roots. Make sure to keep the heated airflow concentrated on the lower half of the brush to allow the hair to cool on the second half of the brush for volume and a rounded bend at the end! Step 6: Marry the ends together by blow drying the lower half and merging any layers. Step 7: Do not over dry! Overdrying will cause hair to look dull and is a sign that hair is not retaining the right amount of moisture. This can lead to frizz, static, breakage, split ends, and in general, a thinner looking hair strand. The good news is, every time you wash your hair you have the ability to leave in the right amount of moisture and shine, so you can start restoring health and shine the next tyme you wash your hair!
