The TYME Iron for Left Handers...EXPLAINED!
We got tons of questions from left-handed people asking how to use the TYME Iron to best suit their needs. We’ve spent some time to find the best angles, techniques, and even consulted a few of our left-handed TYME stylists to get the perfect (or possibly even BETTER) curls while using your left hand.
To start, we recommend trying it with your right hand, as most of our tutorials utilize right-handed styles. 50% of those who are acclimated to left-handed tasks end up curling the right side of their head with their left hand and the left side of their head with their right...weird, we know! BUT the other 50% end up just curling with their right hand. Either way, you use both of your hands to style!
Curling Left Handed
Similar to right-handed folks, stick to the 4 basic steps!
Always pick up the iron with your thumb behind the lighted power button.
Approach your hair with the curling side to your head. You should be able to see the power button in the mirror. (You may have seen the curling side referred to as the guide side or curved side)
Place the section of hair you are going to curl in between the two plates, close the iron, and rotate your wrist backward.
While applying light pressure, slowly push the iron forward toward the mirror. Let’s break it down.
Curling On Your Right Side
Keep your thumb behind the power button when curling. Bring your left arm across the front of your body and approach your hair with the guide (curved) side facing your head. Angle tip of your TYME iron away from you and rotate your iron back so you can see the curved side towards the mirror. After you slowly push your hair forward, twist the curl back so it can cool in place.
Curling On Your Left Side
Keep your elbow up! Your elbow is always angled upward on your left side, whether you’re curling left-handed or right. There are two different ways you can hold your iron in your left hand when curling on your right side.
Option #1 Elbow up - of course - with your thumb placed behind the power button, bring your iron in at a downward-facing angle and rotate backward.
Option #2 Elbow up - Place your thumb and pinky on the side with the power button, with the rest of your fingers on the opposite side of the power button and bring your iron in at a downward-facing angle and rotate backward.
Key Points To Remember
Your thumb still remains behind the power button
The guide side still faces your head
Rotate the iron backward so you can no longer see your knuckles
On the right side, your iron is facing upward with the tip towards the ceiling
When curling on your left side, your elbow stays UP UP UP and your iron faces downward, toward you!
Experiences that might occur your first time: Hair Sliding out of the Plates As you’re paying close attention to the way you’re holding and rotating the iron, don’t forget to pay attention to where your hair is in between the plates. A slight tilt of the iron can keep your locks flowing in the iron.
Bigger or Smaller Curls
Your instinct when curling with your left hand may be to give your iron a little bit too much, or not enough gas. Judge your first few curls to make sure you’re getting YOUR perfect curl, it may require a slightly bigger rotation than you’re used to when using your right hand. Also, pay attention to the angle you’re holding the iron at.
The History Of The Original TYME Iron, And How It Is Affected By Frauds in 2019

@jacyndasmith is talking about how TYME started and how all of the knock off TYME irons are affecting her dream.
A post shared by TYME (@tymeiron) on Nov 30, 2019 at 11:38am PST
TYME products are a decade of hard work and sacrifice in the making. In 2008, CEO Jacynda Smith made a bold decision to take the future of her family’s life into her own hands.
Her experience as a hairstylist and cosmetologist constantly put her in a room with women who wanted to BE better, who wanted to FEEL better, and Jacynda knew she could make that difference. By helping these women feel empowered by the way they look, Jacynda dreamed of changing lives. Although, like most young mothers, Jacynda knew that these women didn’t have the time to dedicate to their appearance.
That’s when TYME was born.
Jacynda’s genius idea to help women break through their shells, and Kierre Smith, Jacynda’s brother and now co-CEO, made it happen. The two worked hand-in-hand to develop and patent the TYME Iron, and in 2014, their dreams became a reality.
TYME is a small family-owned company made up of passionate, hardworking people who care about the vibrancy of women in today’s culture. We pride ourselves on always putting our best foot forward and believing that if you focus on the positive, the positive will come. Hard work has gone into all of our products and we always put the needs of our customers first - our employees even FaceTime our customers to make sure they’re getting the best experience with our products.
Let's Get Down To Business
The shopping chaos of the holiday season has brought fraud accounts crawling out of the woodwork.Through just December 1-18, TYME has reported at least 1,500 ads which are linked to 180 different sites...and that's just on Facebook. Knock-off brands like Mestar Iron Pro (also known as Me Star Iron Pro, or 2 in 1 Mestar Iron Pro), “duped” our product and are selling a cheap product with none of the quality the authentic TYME Iron, then use our contact information for customer service which reflects negatively on our company.
As we embark on a new decade, we want to emphasize the importance of authenticity. We want YOU to get the real thing, the real experience, the real results. We have witnessed the importance of supporting small companies and how it affects their employees and their families.
We also understand the value of your hard work and what your dollar means to you, which is why we have implemented the AfterPay payment option on all of our products.
We don’t think you should sacrifice a bill or a chance to spoil yourself and run the risk of buying a knock-off iron and risking the side effects (over-heating irons, use non-regulated materials, not receiving any product at all...the list goes on.)
In 2020, we’re pushing to encourage more conscious thought and shopping. It matters, and it’s time we speak up about it!

How To Achieve Big, Full, Curly Curls With The TYME Iron
Read Time: 2 min 17 sec
Lately, at TYME we’ve been showing you how to best care for your hair and giving you the essentials on creating everyday curls that will last you days. BUT sometimes a girl needs to feel bold and a little extra fabulous! There’s no better way to get there than big, curly hair.
Our traditional methods of curling only need a slight adjustment to take you from an everyday look to the big, romantic curls of your dreams. Every adjustment you make while curling makes a difference; how you hold the iron, how you rotate, what angle you’re guiding the iron at, and whether you’re pulling or pushing. Let’s get started.
Getting Started
Congrats ladies! We can stick to our regular parting and sectioning (or lack thereof) for big, curly hair. We always suggest parting this way to save you time. Parting your hair down the middle and curling from back to front relieves you of tired arms, tangled hair, unnecessary parting, and re-curling/over-curling already styled hair.
However, if you are in need of some seriously huge hair, part your hair down the middle and then each section into a top and bottom section as well. This will allow you to add some voluminous perfection to the bottom half of your hair from the root!
If you’re looking for wand-like curls, curl smaller pieces of your hair. The bigger the section, the more relaxed the curl. Small sections are for head full lion mane curls.
Let's Curl!
How the root of your hair is curled for this style is essential. We want HUGE lift at the roots. This section of our hair holds moisture and natural oils more than the rest, so it takes slightly more effort to shape this hair how we want it.
To lift those roots, your iron has to grab the hair close to the root. It sounds silly to say, but making sure you understand that where you start your rotation is where your curl starts will make everything so much easier!
Hold your TYME iron at a horizontal angle and rotate the iron dramatically. (Without adjusting your hand position AKA thumb behind the light)
To make sure your style holds properly, slowly push* your iron forward. Holding your iron at a horizontal angle will give you those giant Victoria Secret runway model curls, whereas a vertical angle will result in a relaxed, everyday look.
*That’s right! Push your hair forward. Typically we suggest pulling the hair forward with your iron. For big, curly hair, our hair should be cooling over the top of our iron and we want to PUSH all those locks forward.
Pro Tip: When you’re curling the left side, slightly tilt your head towards your left shoulder. This will give you easier access to get closer to the root. Most importantly, it will help you create consistent, even curls just like your right side. Symmetry is key!
Finishing Touches
Big, curly hair always requires a once over to make sure all your hair is curled. Once you’re certain every lock has been turned over, give your locks a slight finger brush to pull them apart.
Add BigTYME Root Lift Powder to your roots, just under the first layer of your hair and “shampoo” the powder in with your fingertips. The “shampooing” action will give your hair a slight tease and make sure the product is distributed evenly.
Finish off with SelfieTYME Hairspray and go throughout your day (or night) feeling like the fierce woman you are!

Make Your Styles Last Longer With These Blowdrying Hacks
Read Time: 4 min 3 sec
One of the most underrated hacks to get your curls to hold their shape for days is by spending a little extra time on your blowdry!
Prep:
Your hair’s foundation is essential in not only creating the perfect look but making it last longer than a day. That foundation is built with moisture-locking shampoo and conditioner, a thermal protectant, a brush that lends itself to solid tension, and a versatile blow dryer.
We start our foundation with Pregame Shampoo and Showoff Conditioner. Keep in mind, most customers only use these two products once or twice a week. Allowing the shampoo to set in your hair lets it work in and remove any build-up from the past few days of products, while the conditioner supplies ample moisture and locks it in.
Upstaged Thermal Protectant is a vital product in your styling routine. Our thermal protectant not only does what the name says it does, but it works as a styling agent too. We suggest applying any thermal protectant to your hair when it is still damp so it has a chance to soak into your hair cuticles before you start applying heat.
Upstaged helps give you control of the style you’re trying to create while blow-drying, instead of waiting to see what style you end up with and trying to lock it in with hair spray. Start your style control at the beginning of your routine, instead of the end.
Pro-Tip: Use Upstaged even if you’re air-drying your locks. It will still be soaked into your hair follicles when you eventually use an iron AND it helps secure a great wave if you’re just scrunching your hair.
Curly or straight hair, before blowdrying your hair, make sure to get any knots out ahead of time! Our TYME Detangling Brush has multiple bristles that reach out and can gently work through knots in no time. Start by brushing out the ends of your hair and work your way up to make the detangling process easier.
Blowdrying Basics:
Mind Your Settings
Once your wet hair is brushed out and tangle-free, it’s time to start drying. The BlowTYME Hair Dryer offers three different heat settings, three different airflow settings, and a cool blast option. Finding what heat and airflow combination that works best for you is a journey.
Using a high heat setting and high airflow will dry your hair quicker, but may not be ideal for styling. Our stylists at TYME suggest starting with a high or medium heat setting with a low airflow when trying to lock in a style for the first time. Utilize the cool blast when you’re ready to lock-in the style you are trying to implement. After all, where your hair cools, is where it stays.
Start In The Front
Make sure your face-framing pieces are dried to a style you prefer before moving onto the rest of your hair. This ensures the most important part of drying is out of the way (I mean...c’mon. We all know it’s true.) and drying the rest will be a breeze.
Pay Attention To Your Drying Style
Most people tend to dry their hair altogether. This isn’t inherently wrong, but it isn’t the quickest way to dry. Focus your drying efforts at your roots to begin. Once your roots are voluminous and about 80% dry, move through to the rest of your hair. As you move through the rest of your locks pay attention to how your hair looks. If it looks section-y and not smooth, that means you have more drying to do.
However, be sure not to over-dry your hair. Over-dried hair tends to wrinkle and crease easier than properly dried hair. On the other hand, under-dried hair gives into humidity and is less likely to hold any style you’re trying to implement.
Mind The Airflow
Frizz and flyaways have two sources of origin: over dried hair and improperly dried hair. The flow of air from your blow dryer should always be moving in the same direction from your hair.
Think of your hair cuticles like the singles of your house, if you’re blowdrying upwards, the airflow is going to lift all of those “shingles” directly up, whereas focusing that air downward will close the cuticle shut, resulting in smooth hair with all of the moisture locked in.
Hacks:
Straight Hair
The TYME 3-inch Round Brush should be your new best friend! Don’t focus your attention on turning the brush while drying, focus on the tension you’re applying with the brush. The roundness of the brush helps lift the hair to create volume, the tension helps mold the style, while the airflow actually creates the look. Apply your airflow to the middle of the brush to help the hair mold to the curve of the brush. If you want more volume and curl, apply the airflow toward the bottom of the round brush.
Pro-Tip: Once you feel your hair is dry and you’re focusing on your style, reverse your round brush and hit your hair with a cool shot. This will help lock that wave/volume in place.
Curly Hair
Our BlowTYME Hair Dryer comes with a concentrator and diffuser! So not only do you have the concentrator to direct the airflow when the goal is to smooth your hair, but if you want to rock your natural curls switch over to the diffuser and achieve gravity-defying curl! Just use the diffuser on low fan speed in the same motion you would use to scrunch your curls with your fingers.
Bangs/Short Hair
Since your hair will dry much faster than most, we suggest using a medium to low airflow, so you can focus on styling before your hair is too dry. Using a triangle brush will help lift your hair from the root, allowing you to manipulate your styles easier. You’ll want to rotate your brushes more to ensure the volume is created if that's what you're going for.

Your Guide To Gatsby Glam Waves
Read Time: 2 min 57 sec
There are important - party-friendly - holidays left in 2019. Between Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, corporate parties, and other holiday celebrations, there are plenty of occasions to get dolled up for. Not to mention, the next 20’s decade is days away and we’re ready to revive all the Gatsby-Esque trends.
Normally at TYME, we focus on getting you out the door as fast as possible, but for this TYME style we’re taking the time to show you how destroying a look can lead to complete glamor. The best part? This style will still only take a fraction of the time.
To create glam waves you’ll need the following tools:
TYME Iron
BigTYME Root Lift Powder
Paddle Brush
SelfieTYME Hairspray
Hair clips (optional)
Step 1: A Perfect Curl
Start building glam waves by curling your entire head of hair. We suggest parting your hair in 3-5 sections to ensure every strand is curled. Glam waves require extremely consistent curls. Normally for TYME style parting and consistency aren’t necessary, but this style is a bit more complex.
Before you start the process decided where you’re going to wear your part. We suggest either a middle or deep part, depending on whether you’re going for a fun or sophisticated look. This will matter when curling your top section.
The best way to create the same curl again-and-again is to curl a small section with your TYME iron held horizontally. While pulling upward, rotate your iron towards the floor immediately. This will give you tons of volume and a solid curl from the root. Pull your iron all the way through the end of your section. Make sure your curl has a chance to cool and set, especially focus on the amount of curl by your roots.
When you get to your top layer, don’t stray from forward-facing curls. A glam wave look THRIVES with forward-facing curls. Curling your whole head one direction is a great way to create this look, with the forward facing curls being on the side of your head that has more hair.
Step 2: Make It BIG!
Depending on your hair texture, add a little - or a lot - of BigTYME throughout your hair. The lifting powder will help secure all the volume you’ve just added to your hair and act as a texture additive!
Step 3: Destroy It All
But gently! Grab your paddle brush and softly brush your curls out starting from the bottom and working your way up. Once your full head is brushed out, use your paddle brush to back brush your locks. This will encourage them to go back to their cooled curl stage. This will feel similar to teasing your hair, but you’ll want to apply much less pressure.
Depending on your hair type one of two things can happen (1) the curls will fall back into place and you can skip step three or (2) it will look as if your curls have completely fallen. DO NOT WORRY. Step three will get you back on track.
Step 4: Salvage
Your hair has already cooled with a significant curl in it. Your hair should want to bounce back to that cooled state. Gather your hair and part it into six or more sections. We suggest separating as if you’re going to make pigtails and creating three sections out of both halves.
Take each section and wrap it around your finger to morph it into one giant curl. Once you have your six giant curls, use your fingers as a comb to softly open the giant curls. This should result in uniform back and forth style curls.
Step 5: Build It Up + Secure
Option 1: Using your paddle brush and hair clips gently lift and encourage one valley of hair to move in one direction and the valley below in the opposite direction. Repeat throughout the length of your hair. ** If you hair frequently kinks we suggest trying option two (below) first.
Option 2: Use your paddle brush and the curve of your hairspray can to lift and encourage one valley of hair to move in one direction and the valley below in the opposite direction.
Repeat throughout the length of your hair. Once your glamorous valleys are up to par, secure them with SeflieTYME hairspray!
You’re now ready to take on any type of party!

Easy Holiday Updo Hairstyle
It’s holiday party time and we want to help you save some tyme so you can live your life instead of getting ready for it. 😉Here is a simple updo hairstyle you can do on yourself or someone else!
Step 1: Pop in a few curls just to soften the ends a bit.
Step 2: Gather two front pieces and bring back to the middle back of your head. Secure with elastic then flip ponytail through (like a topsy tail), pulling apart hair to loosen a bit to make it look a little more disheveled.
Step 3: Grab two more front pieces and repeat steps going over top of first ponytail.
Step 4: Grab two ponytail sections along with the hair underneath and the two sections on either side and create three braids.
Step 5: Pull apart (or pancake) the braids using a texturizing powder such as BigTYME Root Lift Powder.
Step 6: Take on of the outer braids and tuck it through between it and the middle braid and “fluff’ up the braid.
Step 7: Repeat on other side.
Step 8: Take each side and cross over the middle braid and pin into place.
Step 9: With the remaining middle braid, create a bun and pin into place.

How To Shop Smart Online, And What To Do If You Have Fallen Victim To Fraud
Read Time: 3 min 43 sec
If there is one thing we are sure about - it’s the quality and thought behind our products.
At TYME we focus on bringing real change into the lives of women all over the world. We can only bring that change through the quality of our products and how we teach and encourage women to use them.
We have spent years developing the TYME Iron and the entire TYME line of products because we truly believe in the value of spending more time doing the things we love, instead of in the bathroom.
We believe our products allow our customers to be the best, most authentic version of themselves. Our focus is you and your individual experience with an iron made from the highest quality components available. The TYME Iron is made with professional grade titanium plates that allow it to heat up in 55 seconds. We offer five different heat settings - because every hair type is different - and we have the technology to allow your iron to remember what temperature you keep your iron at.
If you are purchasing a TYMEIron dupe how do you know that they are promising and practicing the same standard of quality and safety with their products? Let alone giving you the results they’ve “promised".
Companies like Mestar(also known as Me Star Iron Pro, or 2 in 1 Mestar Iron Pro) have stollen our ads, social media and website assets, brochures, and packaging and sell a fake iron to consumers. Not only does this hurt the family-owned company that worked so hard to bring a premium product to the beauty market, but many times customers either receive a product that doesn't work, malfunctions, or never even get sent a product altogether.
When you’re shopping this holiday season - especially on Black Friday and Cyber Monday - make sure you’re getting the authentic product...authenticity makes a difference. Tons of fraud companies make their money offering knockoff, cheap versions of other products, which hurts the companies that have worked so hard to bring you innovative and effective products!
We know it can be difficult to knowhow to spot a fake tyme iron vs a real TYME Iron, sohere are a few tips and tricks to make sure you’re not being taken advantage of byfraud products during shopping holidays.
Buy Directly from the Companies Website..and Check The URL
This is the safest bet. Companies typically give the best discounts on their products directly on their site**. Plus, you can always count on it being the real thing and getting the best deal, so it’s a win-win. The URL in your internet search bar typically says the name of the brand when it is a direct site. For example, our website is tymestyle.com!
**TONS of companies sell their products through Amazon...BUT most verified brands typically have their own shopping page through Amazon. Look for those shops and add those products to your shopping cart instead of reading hundreds of reviews on fake products from a weird user that doesn’t even mention the name brand.
This pertains to social media as well! Instagram and Facebook have all made it very simple to know you are purchasing from a verified company all based on the blue checkmark next to their social media handle!
Where are the “Often Bought With” Items?
When you’re online shopping there is a carousel of images towards the bottom marked “Often Bought With.” These are similar items that pair with the product you are buying. Typically they fall within the same brand line or genuinely just compliment the use of the product. If random items pop up that aren’t “on brand” with the item you’re looking at - beware of a fake product.
Check for the Full Product Line
There are hundreds of fake third party retailers online. They thrive on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and they TOTALLY bait you with their shipping deals. Does the idea of ordering new high end mugs, sweatpants, jewelry, and hair products all from one site sound legit?
Be careful.
You should always double check to make sure the site you’re ordering from carries more products from the brand your item is associated with. If you can’t find any of the other products from that brand on the site...RED FLAG.
Check the Price
Companies don’t give their products away for free...unless it’s a literal giveaway. You won’t find quality products for a fifth of the price, even if it is Black Friday. Deals and steals do exist, but be wary of the discount your getting. It could end up being a knock off.
Watch the Discount Amount.
Companies will offer percentage discounts that make sense 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, etc. This isn’t always the case, but if something like 83% or 47% comes across your screen, you might want to do a little more research into the product you are thinking of purchasing.
Shop Demo or Refurbished Products
Every company has products they use at events or for photoshoots. The retailers can’t sell these as “new” products, so they often offer them as they are, just at a significant discount. The link to these products typically lives towards the bottom of a website in the footer. And the best part? You don’t have to wait for a shopping holiday for the discount. “Gently used” means it might have a small scratch or smudge, but why should that stop you?
Fallen Victim to Scam/Fraud?
If your charge says anything other than TYME LLC, you have not purchased from us. We’re doing everything we can, and working with Facebook to get these sites taken off of social media.
If you have any information about the company you purchased from, please send it to us so we can report it.
If you paid with a credit card, the best way to get your money back is by filing a chargeback with your credit card provider. You can file the chargeback as:
Item is not as described
Did not receive the package
No response from the company

7 Easy Hairstyles For 7 Days
All of our days and lives are completely different. There are no two people who live the same schedule and therefore there is no possible way that we can depend on the numerous beauty bloggers “hairstyle hacks.” These are people who spend their entire day creating these videos.
We don't have time for that!
We’re real people who - let’s be real - would rather be doing yoga or playing with our kids over spending hours in the bathroom getting ready. That’s why we're in this business. To make lives E A S I E R.
We’re going to show you how to get seven different looks out of basic, manageable everyday curls. These are all styles that will take you from the office, or your everyday cycle, into a night of actual living and not worrying about what you look like.
Before we get started we want to preach about the potential of changing your part. We know it’s a tough sell, but try it! Getting out of your comfort zone can spark some and who knows? You might find yourself falling in love with a new look.
1. Going to a Concert
Let’s be honest, going to a concert on a weeknight is already risky business, so we don’t want to spend hours of our precious day getting ready for it, especially if we’re just going to hit the hay after.
To transition your everyday curls into concert ready, add some smaller curls that give more dimension to the top of your hair. Don’t overdo it, adding just a few of these smaller sectioned curls will totally change how your hair looks.
If you haven’t already, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce your hair to BigTYME! This will save you from spending too much time trying to tease or add volume to your hair. It’s literal magic in a bottle. Finish the style off with some hairspray and you’re good to go!
2. Family Photos
The holidays are just weeks away and people are crunching in those family photos to put on their holiday cards. With tight schedules between work, school, and extracurriculars, photo sessions might need to be on “school nights.” It’s easy to bring your everyday curls to photo ready!
Add more curls focusing on smaller sections. After your full head is curled to your potential, grab your TYME Paddle Brush and soften them up. After all, you want to look like an elevated version of your everyday self in these pictures.
3. Attending a Sports Game
As we get older and our kid's schedules start to become our schedules, a lot of our evenings are spent at games or practice. We know getting ready for a game seems silly, but it’s still a social outing. You’ll be talking to parents and coaches and want to put a serious face forward.
We suggest brushing through those everyday curls and switching up your part! Changing to a middle part can turn you from sweet to fierce in seconds!
4. Baby Shower/Wedding Shower/Engagement Party
You could easily go to any of these events with your everyday curls, but this hairstyle is SO EASY you’ll want to do it.
With a middle part, grab the two front framing sections of your hair and give them a twist to the crown of your head. Make sure the front section is full and has body. Using two bobby pins per side, secure them at the crown of your head and vuoala! You have an adorable hairstyle!
5. Football Sunday
Whether it’s hitting your favorite neighborhood bar or just sitting on the couch with your partner, it’s nice to FEEL cute! For this style, you can use your every day - or for most of us leftover from the day before - curls or even your natural hair. Part your hair deep to one side and then pull all of your hair to a low pony on the opposite side.
About two or three inches down add another small pony and repeat all the way through the end of your pony. Fluffing the sections in between ponytails makes a fun flirty look that’s easy to create. Leaving strands of your face framing pieces out can soften up this look!
6. Professional or Fundraising Event
Fancy events don’t just take place on the weekend. Rushing to get ready for a formal event can be tricky when most office hours don’t end until 5 p.m. and who wants to take PTO when it’s not for a vacation. If you know this event is coming up, it might be wise to give your hair a fuller curl in the morning, but soft everyday curls work too! We’re going to style a sleek one sided do.
Part your hair deep to one side, tucking the rest of the hair on the smaller side behind your ear. Pull that hair in a slight twist towards the nape of your neck on the opposite side and secure with a clear ponytail so it’s hidden under the ticker side of your hair.
7. Exercising
We know that it might seem silly to tell you how to do your hair to go exercise...but there is a way to do it to make your curls last! We’re going to teach you the foolproof way of creating a messy bun.
Grab all your hair and smooth it to the crown of your head. Pull your hair halfway through and wrap that half up and through to create the perfect messy bun that won’t destroy your curls.
Go forth ladies and effortlessly crush every day and every style that comes with it!

What To Look For When Air Drying Hair
Read Time: 1 min 48 sec
You just took the most relaxing bath of your life and your hair is sopping wet. Sometimes we don’t want to get rid of those calm, comfy vibes by blow-drying our hair! (Although the BlowTYME is extremely quiet...) Another option is to let those locks air dry and keep your #selfcare moment lasting!
At TYME there is a #1 topic that we stick to...hair health. We love wash-cycle longevity and amazing styles, but you can’t achieve those things without healthy hair. Below are a few tips to boost the health of your hair while getting to ditch the blow dryer for a wash or two.
Pay Attention
When you let your hair air dry it’s best to pay attention to the amount of time it takes to dry. The faster the better, which means you have healthy hair. If it takes a long time, that means your hair requires some moisture! Think about it, if your hair is taking forever to dry - especially blow dry - you’re putting direct heat on your hair for a significant amount of time, therefore, drying it out even more. It’s a vicious cycle leading to serious hair damage.
If your drying time is taking too long - air drying or blow drying - it’s time to take a step back and focus on the moisture levels of your hair.
Reduce Frizz & Elevate Your Natural Texture
Having thicker or coarse hair is always a struggle when it comes to drying. Of course, making sure our hair is moisturized properly is vital, but switching up our drying style can almost completely change the feel of our hair. People with curly hair should try using products that are moisturizing and help with the definition of curls without becoming oily or crunchy.
Combine those products with a gentle towel dry will smooth your locks and give new life to your thirsty curls. On the other hand, people with thinner, straight hair should try products to add some texture to their hair. Volumizing powder sprays can instantly give you that beachy look you’re dying for.
Air Drying Doesn’t Have to be Boring
Just because it’s a bit of a lengthier process than normal, doesn’t mean it has to be lame. Take these opportunities to play with the texture of your hair and try new products you normally wouldn’t. Try using a styling product like Upstaged! It can add serious texture and structure to a style. Texturizing Sprays like BigTYME can elevate your hairstyles for that entire wash cycle. This stuff will add wild lift to your hair - doing more than replacing the lift you would normally get from blow-drying.
